Question 1

Do you offer 24/7 emergency plumbing service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pacific Crest Plumbing & Drain is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A live plumber answers the phone, not voicemail, and our average response time across Greater Vancouver is 60 to 90 minutes.

Question 2

Are you licensed and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our plumbers are Red Seal certified and fully insured. We carry liability coverage on every job, residential or commercial.

Question 3

Do you provide free estimates?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we provide free, no-obligation estimates for all non-emergency plumbing and repipe projects. Emergency calls carry a flat after-hours dispatch fee that we quote up front before a technician is dispatched.

Question 4

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We serve Burnaby, Vancouver, North Vancouver, Coquitlam, and New Westminster, plus the surrounding Lower Mainland. If you are nearby, call us and we will confirm coverage and response time.

Question 5

Do you offer warranties on your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We stand behind every repair and installation with a workmanship guarantee, and we pass through all manufacturer warranties on parts and fixtures we supply.

Question 6

Can you help with insurance claims?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For emergency water damage, we document the source of the leak, take photos, and provide a detailed invoice that most insurers accept directly.

Question 7

How fast can you get here for an emergency?

Accepted Answer

Our average response time across Burnaby, Vancouver, and the North Shore is 60 to 90 minutes, 24 hours a day. We will give you a live ETA on the phone.

Question 8

Do you charge extra for nights and weekends?

Accepted Answer

There is a flat after-hours dispatch fee that we quote up front before we send a technician. There are never surprise charges after the work is done.

Question 9

Can you help with my insurance claim?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We document the source of the leak, take photos, and provide a detailed invoice that most insurers accept directly.

Question 10

Is hydro-jetting safe for my older pipes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We adjust pressure and nozzle type to the pipe material and age. We always camera-inspect first to confirm the line is structurally sound before jetting.

Question 11

How often should drains be cleaned?

Accepted Answer

For a typical Greater Vancouver home, an annual preventative cleaning keeps grease and roots from building up. Kitchen lines and homes with mature trees may need it twice a year.

Question 12

Why does my drain keep clogging?

Accepted Answer

Recurring clogs usually mean a deeper issue: root intrusion, a bellied pipe, or grease buildup past the trap. A camera inspection finds the real cause so we fix it once.

Question 13

Should I repair or replace my old tank?

Accepted Answer

If your tank is over 10 to 12 years old or the leak is from the tank body, replacement is almost always more cost-effective. We give you a clear side-by-side quote.

Question 14

How long does a tankless install take?

Accepted Answer

A straightforward tankless swap is usually done in a day. Converting from a tank to tankless, or upgrading gas lines, can take a day and a half. We confirm timing up front.

Question 15

Are there rebates for going tankless?

Accepted Answer

Yes. BC energy-efficiency rebates often apply to qualifying tankless and heat-pump models. We complete the rebate paperwork and deduct eligible amounts.

Question 16

How do you find a leak behind a wall or under a slab?

Accepted Answer

We use acoustic listening devices, thermal cameras, and tracer gas to pinpoint the leak to within a few inches, so we only open the wall or floor that has to be opened.

Question 17

Should I replace my Poly-B pipes?

Accepted Answer

Poly-B (grey plastic) piping common in 1970s to 1990s Lower Mainland homes has a high failure rate. We recommend proactive replacement, especially if you see discolored fittings or have had a leak.

Question 18

How long does a whole-home repipe take?

Accepted Answer

A typical single-family home repipe in PEX-A takes 2 to 4 days with water restored each evening. We protect your floors and leave the work area clean.

Question 19

Can you install a fixture I bought myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We happily install customer-supplied fixtures as long as they are code-compliant and compatible with your rough-in. We will flag any issues before we start.

Question 20

Do you work with my renovation contractor?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We coordinate rough-in and finish timing with your contractor or designer so plumbing lands in the right sequence of the reno.

Question 21

How long does a toilet or faucet install take?

Accepted Answer

A straightforward toilet swap is about 1 to 2 hours; a faucet replacement is usually under an hour. New rough-ins or relocating fixtures take longer and we quote that up front.

Question 22

What causes a sewer backup in Greater Vancouver homes?

Accepted Answer

The most common causes are tree root intrusion, a collapsed or bellied clay tile, grease buildup, and heavy rain overwhelming an old perimeter drain. A camera inspection pinpoints the exact cause.

Question 23

Do I need a backwater valve?

Accepted Answer

Many Lower Mainland municipalities require or rebate backwater valves, especially in flood-prone areas like New Westminster and Queensborough. We install and certify them to code.

Question 24

Can you replace drain tile without digging up my whole yard?

Accepted Answer

Often yes. We use spot repairs and trenchless methods where the line allows. We always camera-inspect first to plan the least disruptive approach.
